Data Scientist · ML Engineer
I build statistical and machine learning systems for health tech, grounded in years of healthcare analytics at Cigna and Aetna.
M.S. Data Science, Fordham — December 2026. Open to full-time Data Scientist and ML Engineer roles starting January 2027.

Applied statistics and machine learning, from a live health-tech product to graduate research projects. Each one links to a full write-up.

Tick Mitt · Data Science & AI Engineering Intern · Summer 2026
A live, community-powered tick-encounter and Lyme disease-prevalence tracking platform, backed by a hierarchical Bayesian engine and built privacy-first. I was the sole engineer.

Fordham · CISC 5800, Machine Learning · Spring 2026
A comparison of four ML classifiers on 253K CDC BRFSS survey records, tuned for screening: minority-class recall rose from 76% to 86% at ROC-AUC ≈ 0.82.

Fordham · CISC 5352, ML in Finance · with Patricia Angeles · Spring 2026
An NLP pipeline over 480 SEC filings, tested against price-based classifiers to see whether filing sentiment predicts post-earnings returns. It barely does, which is consistent with semi-strong market efficiency.

Fordham · CISC 6525, Artificial Intelligence · Spring 2026
A per-cell recursive Bayes filter that maps where a mobile robot can safely drive using only its wheel-slip readings. Built in ROS/Gazebo and validated on a TurtleBot3.
Recent data science and AI engineering work, preceded by seven years in healthcare analytics and provider contracting.

I spent seven years on the payer side of healthcare, at Aetna and then Cigna, where I used Python, SQL, and data storytelling to shape contract negotiations across a $2.3B hospital and physician portfolio. That work convinced me that the most useful models in health care are the ones decision-makers can trust and act on.
I'm now finishing an M.S. in Data Science at Fordham (4.0 GPA) and working as a Graduate Research Assistant on the economics of cybersecurity. This summer at Tick Mitt I built TiCK Heatmap end to end: a live, privacy-first disease-surveillance platform backed by a hierarchical Bayesian model.
I'm looking for Data Scientist and ML Engineer roles in health tech, where statistical rigor, clear communication, and domain knowledge matter as much as the model.
